About the Founder
The story behind EchoJay
Sean D never had a mentor. That is the whole reason EchoJay exists.
When Sean started out as a mix and mastering engineer, there was no one sitting next to him to ask the obvious questions. No one to tell him whether his low end was right, whether the vocal was sitting properly, whether the mix would translate. He had no guidance and no shortcut, so he researched everything. Every decision, every technique, every problem got picked apart on his own time until he understood it.
That worked, eventually, but it took years longer than it needed to. And the whole time he kept coming back to the same thought: most producers and engineers are in exactly this position. A mix, a deadline, and a nagging feeling that something is slightly off, with no experienced ear to confirm it.
That self taught approach eventually turned into a career working on records at the highest level. But none of it changed the core problem. Even with all that experience, the thing Sean kept wishing for was a faster way to get a straight answer about the mix in front of him, instead of digging through endless tutorials to find the one tip that actually applied.
So he built it. EchoJay is the mentor Sean never had, turned into a tool. Instead of trawling through hours of YouTube tutorials and scattered forum threads hoping something applies to your track, EchoJay reads your exact situation in your DAW and gives you direct, relevant advice on the spot. It puts an experienced opinion in the room with you: meter readings, source aware analysis, and clear feedback you can act on, right where you are working. It does not replace learning your craft, it just gets you to the useful information far faster.
Reads the data, never fakes the ears
EchoJay does not pretend to hear your track. It will not hallucinate an opinion or invent taste based on imaginary listening the way a lot of AI language models do. Instead it sticks strictly to the data, reading what is actually going on in your audio in an advanced way that most humans would not be able to analyse by ear alone. Every piece of feedback is grounded in real measurements, not a guess dressed up as a vibe.
A guide, not gospel
Here is the honest part. Great mixes break the rules all the time. EchoJay is a guide, not a set solution, and you should not treat everything it says as the truth. It can help you spot and solve the problems standing between you and the sound you are going for, and it can help you shape that sound deliberately. But the best feedback in the world still comes from real people, because people are your audience. Use EchoJay to understand and fix what needs fixing, then trust your ears, your taste, and the humans around you for the rest.
Always evolving
EchoJay is never finished. The feedback engine is constantly improving, getting sharper and more specific with every update, and new features ship regularly off the back of real user input. What you use today is better than last month, and what you use next month will be better again. It is a tool that grows with the people who rely on it.
Built by a team, born from experience
Sean is the founder, but EchoJay is built and refined by a team of developers who share the same goal: give producers and engineers the guidance most of them never had. Every feature comes from real sessions and real frustrations, not a spec sheet. The team is independent, self funded, and builds directly off the feedback of the people who use EchoJay every day.
